GAMA to Hold Iowa General Aviation Rally

The General Aviation Manufacturers Association will be holding an Iowa General Aviation Rally Wednesday, August 17th at 9:00 a.m.    The event will be held at the Rockwell Collins Flight Operations Center at the Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) in Cedar Rapids and will highlight the importance of the general aviation industry in Iowa.   Confirmed speakers include :

    Pete Bunce, President & CEO of GAMA (Pictured at right)
    Clay Jones, Chairman, President, & CEO of Rockwell Collins
    Senator Charles Grassley
    Congressman Tom Latham
    Congressman Leonard Boswell
    Congressman Steve King
    Debi Durham, Director, IA Department of Economic Development

Pilots and general aviation supporters are encouraged to attend and show their support for general aviation in Iowa.  Pilots bringing aircraft to the event should arrive at the Rockwell Flight Operations ramp by 8:30 a.m.   Please RSVP with the number of attending and type of aircraft to aviationforum@grassrootssupport.net.

Kim Stevens

Kim Stevens is the publisher of State Aviation Journal, which he founded in 2009. A longtime commercial-rated pilot, he was introduced to state aviation in 1992 as Director of the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics, later serving as Deputy Division Director for the Arizona Department of Transportation's Aeronautics Division. From 2013 to 2018, he was Director of Communications and Operations for the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) in Washington, D.C. Relocating to North Carolina, Kim worked for the Raleigh-Durham International Airport for two years and now concentrates solely on the Journal. Prior to his aviation career, Kim spent a decade in the newspaper and magazine business.
