ASA Calls for States to Participate in the State Aerospace Organization Committee

Charles Huettner, Executive Director of the Aerospace States Association, has announced the annual meeting of the State Aerospace Organization Committee at 9:00 on March 22, 2011 in Washington, D.C. preceding ASA’s Annual Meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to share information and issues between state-based organizations and to provide a report to the annual ASA meeting that afternoon.

Committee goals include :

§    helping state aerospace and aviation organizations collaborate and share information to grow the aerospace and aviation enterprises in their states
§ developing a database of state aerospace and aviation organizations
§ sharing best practices, lessons learned, business models, charters, organizational models

This “organization of organizations,” Huettner said in a State Aviation Journal interview, works with groups, such as the Vermont Aerospace and Aviation Association, to build relationships with other state aviation and business interests. Huettner noted that the committee continues to grow with increasing state participation.
