The National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) is pleased to announce its partnership with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) to enroll 203 airports in NASAO’s Airport Partner program.
“MDOT is proud to partner with NASAO in offering Michigan airports access to critical training and resources, at no cost,” said Bryan Budds, MDOT Office of Aeronautics director. “We expect the Airport Partner program, along with the other program benefits, to be well-received and appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with NASAO to continue providing current, relevant training for our airports.”
“NASAO is pleased to work with Michigan and its other state aviation agency members, to provide this valuable resource for airports,” said Greg Pecoraro, NASAO president and CEO. “These airports are a critical part of our national transportation system, and the training and resources we can provide to their staff will help make them more efficient and better prepared to provide access to aviation.”
Michigan is home to 215 licensed public use airports, 13,000 registered pilots, and 5,200 aircraft, moving 39 million passengers and 601 million pounds of air cargo annually. Michigan’s aviation industry generates approximately $22 billion in yearly economic impact.
Since 2023, NASAO has offered membership to airports through its Airport Partner Program. Like other NASAO partnership programs, the Airport Partner Program is open to U.S. airports looking to enhance engagement with state government aviation agencies, stay apprised of the most current aviation issues, and access exclusive NASAO member resources.
