Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport celebrated a major milestone with the groundbreaking of a new parking garage and consolidated rental car facility on Tuesday, February 27th.
The new $97 million facility will feature time-saving Park Assist technology for public parking, a spacious rental car lobby, and dedicated areas for premium rentals, quick drop-off, fueling, and car washing. This expansion is essential to accommodate expected record-breaking passenger numbers in 2024 and continued growth in the coming years.

The garage project is part of a larger long-term plan to enhance GSP’s capacity and amenities. Two new surface parking lots were added in 2021 and a redesigned terminal roadway system was completed in 2023.
A recent report revealed that GSP contributes a $4 billion in economic impact on the region each year. With $427.3 million in capital improvements planned over the next six years, GSP’s positive effect on the local economy is expected to increase significantly in the coming years.
