The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) announced today that top Capitol Hill strategist, veteran political communications manager and senior Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) executive Kristie Greco Johnson has been named the association’s Senior Vice President for Government Affairs, effective June 13.
Johnson will direct NBAA’s advocacy efforts with federal, state and local government leaders regarding the promotion of business aviation, including its focus on safety, security and sustainability, as well as its importance to the nation’s economy and transportation system.
Johnson will come to NBAA with more than 25 years of experience at the highest level of government and politics, serving most recently as chief of staff for Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-4-OR), a career-long aviation advocate and current chair of the U.S. House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure.
She previously served as senior advisor for Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-6-SC) in his House leadership roles. She has also served as head of communications at the FAA, and as senior advisor on presidential and congressional campaign committees.

Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts in English, Concentration in Business from Villanova University.
