The National Air Traffic Controllers Association, AFL-CIO (NATCA) announced today the appointment of Josh Nassar as its new Director of Government Affairs effective July 24, 2023. He will be responsible for leading NATCA’s legislative and political efforts to preserve, promote, and improve the working conditions of air traffic controllers and other aviation safety employees, and the safety of the National Airspace System.
With more than 20 years of Capitol Hill experience, Nassar brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to NATCA. Prior to joining NATCA, he worked for 11 years as the Legislative Director for the United Autoworkers, where he was named to The Hill’s Top Lobbyists in 2021 and 2022.
“We are very pleased to welcome Josh to the NATCA team,” said Rich Santa, NATCA President. “As we continue to work with Congress to pass Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization and Department of Transportation appropriations that recognize the need for a comprehensive, long-term plan to hire and train the next generation of air traffic controllers, it is more important than ever that we have strong advocates like Josh working with and on behalf of our members. His extensive knowledge and experience achieving bipartisan success will be invaluable in advancing our members’ interests in aviation safety.”
