Dog Is My CoPilot Celebrates 30,000 Pets Rescued with $30,000 Match

On this day of global giving, you are invited to join Dog Is My CoPilot in raising funds for the animals who need it the most— the pets in shelters waiting to find homes! At a time when animal shelters are struggling with increasing euthanasia, Dog Is My Co-Pilot’s rescue flights are vital to getting pets out of the shelter and into loving homes. To help celebrate the 30,000 animals saved, a special donor and his sweet dog, Abba have generously stepped forward to match every gift dollar-for-dollar, through December 31st, up to an incredible total of $30,000.

Dog Is My Copilot is flying nearly 1,000 animals to new forever homes every month. They rescued over 6,000 animals in 2023, bringing their grand total to over 30,000 animals flown to safety.

Kim Stevens

Kim Stevens is the publisher of State Aviation Journal, which he founded in 2009. A longtime commercial-rated pilot, he was introduced to state aviation in 1992 as Director of the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics, later serving as Deputy Division Director for the Arizona Department of Transportation's Aeronautics Division. From 2013 to 2018, he was Director of Communications and Operations for the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) in Washington, D.C. Relocating to North Carolina, Kim worked for the Raleigh-Durham International Airport for two years and now concentrates solely on the Journal. Prior to his aviation career, Kim spent a decade in the newspaper and magazine business.
