Aviation Associations Congratulate New House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee Leaders

National aviation associations, including the National Air Transportation Association (NATA) and the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), expressed their congratulations to the new leaders of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure, Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO) and Ranking Member Rick Larsen (D-WA).

“For many years, NATA has enjoyed close working relationships with Reps. Sam Graves and Rick Larsen to ensure the continued safety and success of aviation businesses,” stated Curt Castagna, President & Chief Executive Officer. “The wealth of industry knowledge and policy expertise that both Chairman Graves and Ranking Member Larsen bring to their new leadership roles on the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee will be invaluable to NATA’s membership as the 118th Congress works on legislation to reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration.

GAMA President and CEO, Pete Bunce said “On behalf of the entire GAMA membership, I congratulate Chairman Graves and Ranking Member Larsen. We look forward to working with these leaders, each of whom have been proponents of a safe, strong and growing aviation industry.” The committee has a rich history of working across the aisle in a bipartisan manner and Bunce said they appreciate their stated commitment to continuing that approach especially given the need to reauthorize the FAA. “There are several important aviation-related issues that will need to be addressed in the 118th Congress, including work on key policy areas like safety; the FAA and industry workforce; innovation; aircraft certification and validation; the environment; and the rulemaking, policy and guidance process. This is a transformative time for general aviation manufacturers and the industry overall and we are excited to have this leadership team in place to work within the House T&I Committee and Congress to plot and navigate the industry’s future path,” concluded Bunce.
