The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) announced that it has exceeded 7,000 members – a record high in the association’s 91-year history. These more than 7,000 dues-paying members represent a wide range of aviation professionals at approximately 875 airports and more than 700 companies.
“AAAE is proud to deliver unparalleled service, innovation and results for our members,” said AAAE President and CEO Todd Hauptli. “This milestone is a testament to the value we provide to hard-working aviation professionals around the country.”
“The AAAE team has worked diligently to offer creative and innovative new member benefits over the past five years that have undoubtedly contributed to strong retention and recruitment,” said Jacky Sher Raker, Executive Vice President, Meetings, Membership, Marketing, Administration and AAAE Foundation. “Our members’ professional and personal growth is the core of our mission.”
AAAE has averaged four new members every day so far in 2019 – a 19 percent increase in new members from a year ago and a 48 percent increase over two years before. The number of AAAE members has grown by 24 percent over the past five years. AAAE membership dues remain well below the industry average for professional associations, intended to make it affordable for those in the aviation industry to join AAAE at any stage of their career.
Members of AAAE enjoy a broad array of benefits, including numerous professional development opportunities, access to highly-respected training and accreditation programs, complimentary subscriptions to Airport Magazine and the Airport Report Today newsletter, access to a comprehensive aviation information library, and discounts on AAAE meetings and other products.
AAAE continues to devote significant resources to improving and expanding the portfolio of member benefits. Over the last year alone, the association implemented a number of new and expanded benefits for members, such as:
Launched the AAAE Hub, a robust online community allowing 24/7 access to essential information and a network of aviation colleagues;
Created the Mentor Match program, which helps foster mentoring relationships and professional development opportunities across AAAE’s membership; and
Awarded 24 non-academic scholarships, totaling more than $46,000, to airport professionals who might not otherwise be able to attend AAAE conferences and accreditation academies.
