The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) today announced that Senior Vice President, Strategy and Innovation Mike Nichols, CAM, CAE, is retiring April 30, 2021, after nearly 20 years of service with the association.
Nichols currently leads the NBAA Strategy & Innovation Division, which is charged with creating opportunities for emerging technologies relevant to business aviation; providing innovative strategy perspectives to enhance existing programs, products and services; and promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the association. He also oversees NBAA’s professional development initiatives and provides overall direction for the association’s many educational offerings.
“Mike’s tireless work ethic and unwavering commitment to excellence have had a major impact on our association,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. “His service over the past two decades has made us better in countless ways.”
Nichols joined the association in June 2003 as manager of tax and finance issues. Subsequent positions included director of tax, economics and operational services; vice president of operations, education and economics; and vice president of operational excellence and professional development. For several years, he led the team that produced the Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE) in Shanghai, China.
“Mike is exceptional,” added Bolen. “Whatever his future plans are, we hope he will stay involved in the business aviation community.”
