International Aviation Safety Leader Announces Plans for WYVERN Way of Safety Podcast Series

WYVERN, an international leader in aviation safety and risk management, chose National Aviation Day to launch its WYVERN Way of Safety podcast, a new series designed to elevate aviation safety with support from WYVERN team members and other aviation industry experts who share their stories and insights on a wide range of relevant safety topics. Former U.S. Air Force C-130 Navigator and Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rated pilot Trent Corcia is the host. Trent joined WYVERN earlier this year as the vice president of operations support.

“We are delighted to have our dear friend, Marcela White, as our first guest,” commented Sonnie Bates, WYVERN chief executive officer. “We are excited about producing the WYVERN Way of Safety podcast. This podcast series is one more way that we are demonstrating our commitment to adding value to our current and prospective customers. When thousands of us collectively increase our focus on safety, everyone wins,” said Bates.

When recording the first episode recently, White, who is a co-owner of Houston-based Tavaero Jet Charter, Corp., shared her perspectives on several relevant topics: implementing a safety management system, fostering and maintaining a strong safety culture, and ways to get SMS buy-in from upper management and/or owners. Tavaero Jet Charter recently earned the WYVERN Wingman PRO designation by achieving excellence through its ongoing participation in WYVERN’s Flight Leader Program.

More About this Podcast Series and Marcela White

The audience for this podcast includes charter jet operators, charter helicopter operators, UAS operators, corporate flight departments, aerospace and defense original equipment manufacturers, charter brokers, MROs, FBOs, and others interested in learning about and promoting aviation safety.

White has been invited to serve as a regular guest for WYVERN Way to Safety. She has more than 35 years of aviation industry experience. White is a licensed pilot, certified cabin attendant, reliable source for media, and a panelist on safety topics for industry conferences and events.

“I am honored to serve as a guest for this podcast series. I am extremely proud of every one of our Tavaero team members on the ground, in the air, and in the office who ensure the safety of all aspects of our operations. Tavaero committed to implementing a Safety Management System more than 16 years ago. We are thrilled to have earned the prestigious Wingman PRO certification this year,” White said.

Wingman PRO is issued when an established Wingman operator demonstrates effectiveness in all areas of SMS, excellence in addressing Human Factors and Organizational Safety Culture, and continuous conformity to international standards by an internal audit program.  A safety benchmark set above WYVERN’s flagship Wingman program; Wingman PRO is the aviation industry’s highest safety standard.
