General Aviation (GA) Issues and Security Conference (June 24-26)

The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE),  Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA),  General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA),  National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO), National Air Transportation Association (NATA) and National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) are pleased to present the General Aviation (GA) Issues and Security Conference being held June 24-26, 2012 in Reno, NV.   Many thanks go to the Reno-Tahoe International Airport  for hosting the 2012 event.  This year’s location captures the romance and inspiration behind general aviation, energizing the discussion and providing a fitting location for industry to network and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the GA industry.

The GA Issues and Security Conference is an annual event that combines all aspects of general aviation on a national level. This year, the conference is being held in partnership with the Aviation Management Consulting Group (AMCG) and immediately preceding the Sponsor Assurances, Leasing Policies and Minimum Standards Workshop led by AMCG.

Attendees can expect to hear perspectives from industry leaders, learn best practices in revenue generation, strategies for building and preserving relationships on the airfield, as well as hear the latest developments in airport reclassification and compliance. This year topics are being designed to reach a broader general aviation audience, including the pilot community, business aviation operators, and airport businesses as discussions address the declining pilot population and the dynamics of relationships that take place in the airport environment. Sessions on security will present an opportunity to obtain critical updates and ask questions of agency officials regarding the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Large Aircraft Security Program, GA Airport Vulnerability Assessment and other high profile security measures such as counterterrorism and intelligence. The sessions will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss and debate a variety of issues vital to general aviation. The conference will provide a unique networking forum with prominent figures in the GA community, U.S. government, and industry.
