Fly Iowa 2011 September 17

PlanesFly Iowa 2011 will land at the Newton Municipal Airport on Saturday, September 17 for a full day of excitement on the ground and in the skies over Newton.  The statewide aviation fair and air show is free and is designed to expose the public to the benefits and excitement of aviation in Iowa.   

The day will kick off with a public flight breakfast starting at 7:00 a.m. with the opening of Fly Iowa and a car show at 9:00 a.m.  The air show will begin at 1:00 p.m.  Aviation highlights throughout the day will include a B-52 flyover, P-51 Mustang performance, a full line up of aerobatic performances, skydivers, and wing walking.  Many types of aircraft will be on display including military, experimental, helicopters, business, training, and agricultural aircraft.  Displays, vendors, and kids activities will dot the grounds at the airport.
