Daher’s Aircraft Division has joined with the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) to create an international internship program that engages and motivates promising future leaders of the general aviation sector.

This trans-Atlantic internship will provide two North American students with unique and exciting opportunities for hands-on industry experience, plus extensive contacts with workers, managers, pilots and aircraft operators.

The selected students will spend eight weeks at job assignments in their areas of interest at the headquarters and production facility of Daher’s Aircraft Division in Tarbes, France, followed by a week of supporting Daher’s presence during the annual EAA AirVenture fly-in and air show at Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA.

Travel expenses and living allowances are covered by the internship.

“This opportunity is a one-of-a-kind experience for the next generation of aviation industry decision-makers, who will work side-by-side with our team in France to gain expertise in their selected fields,” said Nicolas Chabbert, the Senior Vice President of Daher’s Aircraft Division.

“We are excited to partner with Daher, which builds two separate type certified turboprop aircraft in the U.S. and France, to offer this exciting opportunity for North American students to learn about the general aviation industry in France. These internships provide students with an invaluable international experience that will further their knowledge of the incredible professional global opportunities in our robust industry,” said Pete Bunce, GAMA President and CEO.

Internship applicants should be 18 to 24 years of age, with U.S. or Canadian citizenship, and enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an associate, undergraduate or graduate degree.

They will need to demonstrate an interest in an aeronautical career for engineering, flying, maintenance, manufacturing or marketing – among other areas.

The selection will be based on three elements:

  • A resume and a mandatory cover letter explaining why the applicant is the best candidate for the position, supported by examples of interests and achievements; and
  • A 40-second video introducing the candidate and describing his/her expectations for the internship.

Deadline for submissions is March 20, 2023 at the following link: The GAMA-Daher internship experience or to be sent to w.ferreira@daher.com if the file size is too big to upload.

The final selections for this year’s internship will be announced by Daher and GAMA at the SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo on March 28 in Lakeland, Florida.
