Prospect State Airport Runway Closure – Rehabilitation Project Beginning May 13th

The Prospect State Airport (64S) Runway Rehabilitation and Electrical Improvement project will begin Tuesday May 13th, 2025. A previous notice showed the project starting Monday May 5th. NOTAMs have been updated to reflect this change.

This project will provide a new runway surface and electrical system including runway lighting and navigational aids.

Project/Closure Schedule:

  • The runway will be closed starting 7am Tuesday May 13th.
  • We expect substantial completion by July 31st.
  • The runway may be closed for the duration of the project.

During construction, the runway will be closed to fixed-wing aircraft. Once the project begins, any fixed-wing aircraft at 64S will not be able to depart until the airport reopens after construction is completed.

(!) For the most current updates on field conditions and surface closures throughout this project, please check the latest NOTAMs. Helicopters may arrive or depart directly to/from the apron. However, space is very limited and construction personnel and equipment will be on the apron frequently. As always, please remain outside of, and avoid low flight over closed work areas.

We understand any runway closure impacts pilots and the community. Our goal is to maintain and improve the Prospect State Airport so it can continue to operate safely and efficiently. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we maintain 64S.
