The National Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF) announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Amy Spowart has resigned effective December 21, 2022.
“Over the past seven years, Amy has done an exemplary job of leading the NAHF,” said Michael Quiello, Chair of the NAHF Board of Trustees. “Amy has been a great ambassador for the Hall of Fame, one like no other, who has raised awareness of our mission to a nationwide audience, serving both the National Aviation Hall of Fame and our Enshrinees exceptionally well.”
“It has been a privilege and honor to serve the NAHF for 23 years. I am proud of what we have accomplished and have no doubt that the programs currently in place will continue to grow and generate innovative and pioneering ideas for our industry,” said Spowart. “The NAHF is incredibly strong and will continue to be an increasingly vital force in educating and building the future workforce.”
Accepting the leadership role in 2017, Spowart led the successful effort to achieve the NAHF strategic goal of significantly expanding its reach from a regional focus to a national level. Spowart brought the NAHF current by creating nationally recognized programs, initiating and strengthening partnerships, and providing visionary thought leadership. She oversaw the formation of critical alliances, including with PBS, to develop the STEAM-based educational and workforce program, Discovering Flight with the National Aviation Hall of Fame.

The NAHF is strong, healthy, and financially sound, with a remarkable team in place that will continue to build on Amy’s legacy and many accomplishments,” said David Brixey, Vice-Chair of the Board. “We are committed to a smooth and transparent transition and to finding the best possible candidate for this important role.”
The NAHF profoundly appreciates the dedication and service of Spowart and wishes her continued success in her new endeavors. The board will begin a national search to find a permanent CEO shortly.
