The Pitt Greenville Airport Authority is underway with the construction of five hangars to house corporate aircraft. The airport hosted a groundbreaking ceremony, Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the construction site located near the airport entrance on 400 Airport Drive, Greenville, NC 27834. The hangars are scheduled for completion February 2023.
Four hangars will be approximately 12,000 square feet and capable of housing the largest Gulfstream aircraft to include the G-700 and G-800. The fifth hangar will be 6,400 square feet and capable of housing up to a Cessna Citation Latitude business jet. The project is funded with CARES Act funding provided by the Federal Aviation Administration. Engineering services and construction oversight is provided by Talbert & Bright, Inc. of Wilmington, NC and Dunn & Dalton of Kinston, NC are the architects. The contractor is Farrior & Sons of Farmville, NC.

These types of aircraft are critical to the growth and economic vitality of Pitt Greenville Airport and Eastern North Carolina”, says Bill Hopper, Pitt Greenville Airport Executive Director. “Attracting based corporate aircraft is the largest opportunity for growth at Pitt Greenville Airport. These new hangars will be the catalyst for attracting that type of activity.”

The typical corporate hangar tenant tends to increase overall economic activities in numerous ways such as opening new businesses and expanding existing businesses that, create more jobs, enhances the property tax base with minimal local investment, all while using other billable airport services that increases PGV revenues”, says Eric Clark, Chairman of the Pitt Greenville Airport Authority. “This investment will greatly benefit the airport and our region of Eastern North Carolina.”
