AAAE Wins Innovation Award For New Airport Employee Training System

The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) has been selected to receive a 2015 Top Association & Non Profit Innovator Award for its newly developed customizable training system for airport workers known as the Interactive Employee Training Learning Suite (IET-LS).

One of the driving forces behind the technology, Patrick Raker, AAAE’s Senior Vice President for Training and Technology Services, will be recognized by Bisnow Ventures for his work on the interactive airport worker training system at a reception tonight in Arlington, Va, which is expected to draw more than 200 people.

“AAAE has a rich heritage of delivering innovative, cost-effective, training products to airports,” AAAE President and CEO Todd Hauptli said. “The Interactive Employee Training Learning Suite represents another huge step forward on the training front for airport workers, and we’re excited that Pat and his team are receiving much deserved recognition for their exceptional work product, which is being well received by airports and their employees.”

AAAE’s customizable training system, IET-LS, builds on AAAE’s original Interactive Employee Training System, which is currently used in more than 100 airports across the country. IET-LS is designed specifically for airport workers and is not simply a customized version of a generic training system. It uses recurrent training procedures that can reduce training times up to 75 percent compared to initial training, can be used across various platforms and can track training and compliance scores.

The new IET-LS allows for the same quality, interactive training experience on mobile devices as traditional desktop training, including top-of-the-line content and virtual instructors. This capability is particularly important for training busy, mobile airport workers.
