Reno-Tahoe Selects Mora as President

The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority Board recently announced the selection of Marily Mora, A.A.E. as the corporation’s new President/CEO.

Mora has over 25 years of experience at three different medium hub airports and replaces Krys Bart, who is retiring. She will begin her new position on July 1, 2013.

Mora served as second in command at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport for twelve and a half years until she took a position 18 months ago as the Assistant Director of Aviation for Oakland International Airport, which is owned and operated by the Port of Oakland. In this capacity, she oversaw the daily operations of Oakland International, which handles 10 million travelers a year.

Mora said in a news conference that she is truly excited to be coming home again. The authority board unanimously approved her recommendation by ADK Executive Search, a Florida company which was hired to find Bart’s replacement.

Mora,  who will oversee a staff of 240 employees and an annual budget of about $44 million, said she looks forward to taking the airport to the next level. Her additional experience includes eleven years as the Deputy Director of Aviation for Business Development at Mineta San José International, two years at the Director of the Marketing & Customer Service Division for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority in San José  and working the Public Affairs Department for Public Service Company of Colorado (now Excel Energy) in Denver, Colorado.

She is an Accredited Airport Executive and has a B.A. in International Relations from the University of California-Davis and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Her community involvement includes past Chair of the Washoe County Human Services Advisory Board, Past Board Member of the Nevada Women’s Fund, and past member of the Development Committee of the Reno Air Racing Foundation. She is a graduate of the 2003 Reno-Sparks Leadership Class and a 2002 Nevada Women’s Fund Woman of Achievement.
