The Women in Aviation International Great Lakes Chapter is excited to announce the fourth annual Women’s Aviation Career Symposium (WACS). This event is a professional career conference (for women only) designed to introduce women to aviation and promote networking, education, and scholarships while building up the aviation community.
The event will be held on February 19, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at Western Michigan University College of Aviation, 237 Helmer Road North, Battle Creek, MI 49037. There will be an optional tour of Duncan Aviation afterwards.
WACS attendees will be able to listen to panelists share their experiences in the field; go on aircraft and flight school tours; operate simulation flights and drones; and attend a job and resume workshop. Exhibitors are invited to join an industry briefing and discuss current workforce and industry challenges. In the exhibit hall, attendees can connect with over 20 local aviation companies and schools. The symposium will wrap up with keynote speaker, Allison McKay, CEO of Women in Aviation International, and the presentation of more than $30,000 in scholarships donated by a variety of sponsors.
“We are quite amazed and very thankful for the aviation community and how they have come together to support women in aviation,” said Mary Poirier, Co-Founder of WACS, “With the donations from our sponsors we are able to impact the lives of many more women and help them to achieve their dreams.”
