Sennheiser Continues Support of Aviation Community; Expands Educational Focus

Old Lyme, Conn., March 29, 2012 — Aviation headset manufacturer Sennheiser announced that it is enhancing and expanding its Live Your Dream program in 2012 with an increased focus on, and more significant flight scholarships, flight school integration and organizational partnerships. Live Your Dream was launched last summer with the objective of helping individuals take the first step towards realizing their dream of becoming a pilot.

As Live Your Dream moves into 2012, a total of 8 flight training scholarships will be awarded, each consisting of a US$1,500 as well as various prizes donated by the Live Your Dream sponsors.   Additionally Sennheiser will begin supporting a new, ongoing presentation program at various high schools, universities, flight schools and flight centers around the country. These presentations by the Live Your Dream Ambassadors: experienced pilots from the general, commercial, and acrobatic aviation communities; will cover a variety of topics including the excitement of aviation, the educational value of learning to fly, hearing safety, and communication in the cockpit.   (Photo – Cody Yoder, 2011 Scholarship winner.)

In 2012, Sennheiser will also invite flight schools and flight training centers  to take part in Live Your Dream during the scholarship award process, as well as provide the flight instructor community with an attractive way to recruit new students while marketing their own educational services. Flight schools that register for free on the Live Your Dream website will be able to offer their students the opportunity to participate in the Live Your Dream flight training scholarship competition. The flight schools where the winning students are enrolled will also receive valuable prizes as well as the ability to host one of the Live Your Dream lectures exclusively for their students. Sennheiser will also launch a new Live Your Dream online platform in 2012, encouraging information sharing and collaboration among both aspiring and experienced pilots.

“Last year, we were astounded by the interest and enthusiasm generated by Live Your Dream, and we are committed to reaching even more aspiring pilots in 2012,” commented Christian Pulm, responsible for marketing and strategy development at Sennheiser Aviation. “By enhancing our educational outreach and fostering long-term partnerships with organizations including iFlightPlanner.com, NAFI, Saitek, Aircraft Spruce, EAA, and others, we are building a solid foundation so we can make the program even stronger.”

A program rooted in passion for aviation
In 2011, Live Your Dream helped inspire and motivate a growing community of budding pilots. The Sennheiser Flight Training Scholarship Competition — an essay/video contest — encouraged future pilots
to articulate their passion for aviation and share why they want to become a pilot. Over the course of the year, a total of 7 scholarships valued at $1,000 were awarded to the most compelling entries, helping the recipients move one step closer to their dream.

Sennheiser’s Live Your Dream is an example of how Sennheiser is providing a measurable contribution towards fostering interest and growth within the aviation community. More information about the Live Your Dream initiative is available at www.sennheiser-aviation.com/liveyourdream.
