Phoenix Deputy Aviation Director Wins Prestigious Award

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport’s Deborah Ostreicher, Deputy Aviation Director for Public Relations, is the recipient of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce’s 2012 ATHENA Public Sector Award.  The ATHENA Awards recognize women in the public and private sectors for their professional accomplishments, strong commitment to the community and mentorship of women.

Ostreicher (shown at right) is a recognizable figure at America’s Friendliest Airport®.  With 16 years of experience at the Phoenix Aviation Department which owns and operates Phoenix Sky Harbor, Phoenix Deer Valley and Phoenix Goodyear Airports, Ostreicher manages the Airport’s media, public relations, customer service and air service initiatives.  Her extensive community involvement includes mentoring children and serving on the Board for New Pathways for Youth, an organization which provides support for the community’s homeless children. Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton said that while he greatly respects her work as a professional at Phoenix Sky Harbor, what really inspires him is the work that she does outside of her busy days at the airport.
