Boeing Dreamliner makes weekend visit to Phoenix

The new Boeing 787 jetliner touched down at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix, Arizona late Friday afternoon for a weekend visit to allow Boeing and Honeywell Aerospace employees the chance to see the fruit of their labors.

Innovative systems are at the heart of the aircraft’s advanced technologies and Honeywell Aerospace employees developed and worked on several 787 systems for navigation, maintenance, and crew information, as well as flight control electronics and exterior lighting.

Boeing’s nearly 5,000 employees in Arizona along with employees from partner Honeywell were invited to experience the Dreamliner during its stop in Arizona. The 787 uses lighter carbon fiber for half its construction and is much more fuel-efficient than older planes. (Boeing 787, parkned near Cutter Aviation at Sky Harbor. Photo by Kim Stevens)
