Sixel Consulting Group, one of the nation’s leading air service development and airport marketing firms, is pleased to announce the addition of Ilona Fominykh-Cambron, as a staff consultant primarily responsible for International Aviation Development and Marketing. Ilona is the fourth new member of the Sixel team in 2013.
Ilona will bring to Sixel a unique blend of successful airport marketing from her seven years of experience working with airports and airlines located in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. While working for Moscow-based Airports of Regions (AR), she was responsible for business-to-business marketing, air service development, data analysis, forecasting, presentation creation and relationship management for four airports in central Russia with a combined catchment of 14 million people. During Ilona’s tenure, the largest airport of the group, Ekaterinburg, grew from 900,000 to over 2.0 million enplanements, helping to make it the third largest passenger market area in Russia behind Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Ilona received three Routes Airport Marketing Awards while working as head of marketing for Russia’s largest airport group and managed the hosting of a Routes regional event in 2012, the first ever Routes event in Russia.
At Sixel Consulting Group, Ilona will be responsible for working to develop new international route pairs. Ilona has successfully attracted and launched services with Finnair, Alitalia, Air China, Czech Airlines, and Ukraine International Airlines. Her experience in Russia and the CIS is unmatched among North American-based consultants.
“Our company recognizes the increase in trade and travel between nations and the importance of developing international route opportunities for our existing clients in North America and new clients beyond our borders. By adding Ilona to our team, we continue to enhance our talented staff of air service development and marketing experts; experts dedicated solely to air service retention and expansion. We are thrilled to have Ilona join our team,” said Mark Sixel, President.
Ilona attended the Institute of Foreign Languages and the Russian-American School of Economics and Management at the Ural Federal University in Ekaterinburg, Russia.
Ilona will hit the ground running with Sixel upon being awarded the right to work in the U.S., tentatively scheduled for the end of 2013. She is living in Detroit, Michigan, sharing her new residence with her dog Yeva, another émigré from Ekaterinburg. You may contact her directly at Ilona@sixelconsulting.com.
