Boutsen Design to Bring Elegance to Hamburg Aircraft Interiors Expo

After a successful launch and follow-up at shows in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Daniela Boutsen will bring the Boutsen Design exhibit to Europe, at Hamburg’s Aircraft Interiors Expo, March 27-29, 2012.

Growing naturally from her Formula One driver husband Thierry’s business at Boutsen Aviation, which has delivered over 220 jets since its founding in 1997, Boutsen Design selects, sources, and supports the finest “Arts of the Table,” from flatware to place settings to glassware, to comfortable and elegant accessories. The interior design is not fully integrated until attention has also been paid to soft goods and incidental items for the office, bath, and stateroom, including such important details as linens and pillows.

“Having a beautiful aircraft that embodies the absolute best taste and quality is important to the aircraft owner; maintaining consistency in the items, in the logbook, and in the manifest is just as important to the operator,” says Ms. Boutsen.
For the owner, Boutsen sources worldwide, traveling to audition the top suppliers in many countries, qualifying every piece; Ms. Boutsen herself tests every linen product. The operator benefits uniquely, as well: Boutsen’s proprietary Intranet system provides information to all clients that includes sourcing of items for easy and matched replacement, as well as logistical necessities such as all items’ weights — even cleaning instructions. Though travelers themselves are little aware of the aircraft operators’ work, Boutsen makes that work simple and airtight, giving operators an advantage in cleanliness, turnaround, consistency of appearance and branding, and even aircraft availability.

Noting that “A business aircraft interior is incomplete until the table is set, until the accessories are placed,” Boutsen Design works not only with Boutsen Aviation on its many client aircraft, but also works with independent owners, at the design and completion stages. Additionally, existing aircraft are now invited to display a new feeling of elegance by employing the design and sourcing team at the Monaco-based company.
