FAA, DoD to Hold Workshop on Providing Real-Time Military Airspace Status

Pilots and interested members of the public are invited to learn how the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) are working together to give pilots real-time status of military airspace. The virtual workshop will begin at 11 a.m. EDT on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021.

Representatives from the FAA and DOD will answer participants’ questions. Presentations will include technical systems that display data directly in the flight deck.

You may also watch the presentation on FAA’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube social media channels. Attendees watching on the FAA’s social media channels can submit questions via a Google Form, which will be linked in the comments section at the time of the broadcast.

Kim Stevens

Kim Stevens is the publisher of State Aviation Journal, which he founded in 2009. A longtime commercial-rated pilot, he was introduced to state aviation in 1992 as Director of the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics, later serving as Deputy Division Director for the Arizona Department of Transportation's Aeronautics Division. From 2013 to 2018, he was Director of Communications and Operations for the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) in Washington, D.C. Relocating to North Carolina, Kim worked for the Raleigh-Durham International Airport for two years and now concentrates solely on the Journal. Prior to his aviation career, Kim spent a decade in the newspaper and magazine business.
