Despite the canceled #OSH20, Women in Aviation International (WAI) is dedicated to kicking off the virtual WomenVenture for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh with the 25th annual Connect breakfast featuring dynamic virtual speaker Vernice ‘FlyGirl’ Armour. While this year’s WAI event will be virtual via a Zoom webinar, it will be free to all and features FlyGirl on a 60-minute live interactive session for pre-registered attendees.
America’s first African-American female combat pilot, FlyGirl is the author of Zero to Breakthrough and is working on her next book, The Gutsy Move. She was an inspirational speaker at WAI’s 2017 annual conference in Orlando, Florida. With her leadership keynotes and consulting, FlyGirl commands corporate and tech-centric executive audiences across the globe with her recent presentations: A NEW Conversation, Rules of Engagement, Gutsy Moves, and Something Gooods’ Gonna Come Outta THIS!
Leveraging her Get Gutsy mindset, Vernice propelled herself from beat cop to U.S. Marine Corps combat pilot in a record-breaking three years. Within months of earning her wings, she found herself flying over the deserts of Iraq supporting the men and women on the ground.
FlyGirl will share highlights of this mindset during her July 22 presentation.
This event is free thanks to our sponsors Avemco and United Airlines. The first 50 registrants will receive a special FlyGirl offer. Registration is free here: WAI
“We are thrilled that FlyGirl is bringing her inspiration, amazing energy, and engaging message virtually to our members and friends during the EAA Spirit of Aviation Week this month,” says WAI CEO Allison McKay. “While we can’t gather in-person this year, we are proud to continue our Oshkosh breakfast tradition for the 25th year, when connecting, even virtually, is more important than ever.”
