Texas State University Partners with Faithful Guardian Aviation to Expand Flight Training Opportunities

Texas State University (TXST) has officially entered into a strategic partnership with Faithful Guardian Aviation to expand its bachelor of applied arts and sciences (B.A.A.S.) degree in Aviation Science with a focus on fixed-wing aircraft.

Through this agreement, TXST students enrolled in the Department of Organization, Workforce, and Leadership Studies (OWLS) aviation curriculum will receive high-quality, FAA Part 141-certified flight instruction operating out of Fulton County Airport in Atlanta, Georgia. The partnership offers coursework and practical flight training for complete pilot certifications and ratings, including Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Single and Multi-Engine, and Certified Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII) credentials.

“This partnership with Faithful Guardian is another way Texas State is helping students turn their ambitions into careers,” said Texas State University President Kelly Damphousse. “By combining a Texas State degree with hands-on flight training, we’re giving students the education and experience they need to become successful pilots while helping meet the growing national demand for aviation professionals.”

The agreement integrates TXST’s online academic coursework with hands-on, structured flight instruction and ground training delivered by Faithful Guardian’s certified flight instructors. Students gain real-world flight experience using modern equipment and advanced aviation training devices while earning a fully accredited bachelor’s degree from Texas State.

“Every pilot starts somewhere, and having the right people in your corner can make all the difference. We are proud to partner with Texas State University to help students take those important first steps toward a career in aviation. This partnership is about more than developing future pilots; it’s about creating opportunities, sharing our passion for aviation and helping students recognize what’s possible when they have the right support. We’re excited to be a part of their journey and look forward to what we can accomplish together,” said Lyndon Lamott, chief pilot at Faithful Guardian Aviation.

This partnership reflects TXST’s mission to pioneer innovative educational pathways through collaborative relationships with premier industry partners. By combining rigorous academic instruction with professional flight training, TXST Aviation prepares students to graduate with both the academic foundation and FAA credentials required to excel in professional aviation careers.
