Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) today announced the recent rollout of the 2,000th Beechcraft King Air C90 at its final assembly facility in Wichita, Kan. The King Air C90 Series aircraft is defined by all aircraft with LJ serial numbers, including the 90, A90, B90 and all C90 models. The milestone aircraft, a King Air C90GTx, represents the latest advancement in this most successful turbine aircraft lineup in general aviation today. It is scheduled for customer delivery later this year.
"This exciting moment is a direct result of our ongoing strategy of driving new technology into our aircraft in alignment with our customers’ needs,” said William (Bill) Brown, HBC executive vice president, Global Operations. “An impressive lineage of product improvement and continuous enhancement is why the King Air product line is such a success.”
The King Air 90 entered into service more than 45 years ago. It has long been considered the benchmark entry-level business and personal aircraft, serving as the first step into cabin class comfort and twin turbine capability, safety and performance. The King Air 90 Series represents a significant portion of the entire King Air production, which totals more than 6,500 aircraft.
Key enhancements to the King Air C90GTx include an increase in gross weight and the addition of composite winglets, which improve climb performance and further increase fuel efficiency. Featuring a cabin 50 percent larger than some very light jets, the C90GTx seats up to seven passengers in its famed squared-oval design, allowing greater passenger comfort. It includes an in-flight accessible, heated and pressurized baggage storage area along with a private aft lavatory as standard.
