Obenauer Leaving Bismarck ADO - State Aviation Journal

Steve Obenauer, Manager of the Bismarck Airports District Office, (ADO) announced this week that he is being reassigned to Minneapolis as the ADO manger there. Obenauer told the State Aviation Journal that it was not an easy choice. The folks in North Dakota are "outstanding people," said Obenauer.

My experiences in the Dakotas and association with such a group of dedicated professionals has been the highlight of my FAA career, wrote Obenauer in an email to aviation and airport officials.
Although negotiations are continuing, Obenauer said that it looks like he will report to work in Minneapolis on October 4th.
Obenauer was thankful for the outstanding support he was given over the past years at the Bismarck ADO and was confident that the same excellent support would be given to the staff and the new manager of the Bismarck Airports District Office.

A longtime commercial-rated pilot, he was introduced to state aviation in 1992 as Director of the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics, later serving as Deputy Division Director for the Arizona Department of Transportation's Aeronautics Division.
