The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has announced that Laura Everington has joined the association as its director, flight operations and regulations.
Everington brings extensive industry experience to NBAA. In her new role, she will act as the staff liaison to the Regulatory Issues Advisory Group (RIAG) and the International Operations Committee (IOC). She also will supervise NBAA’s Operations Service Group (OSG), manage special projects and serve as one of NBAA’s technical experts leading legislative, regulatory, technical and flight operations advocacy efforts.
“Laura brings decades of regulatory analysis and engagement to our team that will benefit the entire business aviation community,” said Doug Carr, NBAA’s senior vice president for safety, security, sustainability and international affairs.
Everington joins NBAA from Universal Weather & Aviation, Inc., where she has worked since 1988. Most recently, she served as senior manager, government and industry affairs, where she led the development and implementation of strategies and products, including identifying and engaging with key global stakeholders. Previously, Everington served as senior manager, global regulatory services team, where she built and maintained relationships with government agencies, industry associations and other stakeholders.
Additionally, Everington has been active on NBAA’s committees, serving as a member of the RIAG, past chair of the NBAA Security Council and a member of the IOC. She also was an International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) representative for ICAO/WCO/IATA Forum and Facilitation Panel and a member of the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) GA Industry Working Group.
A respected and knowledgeable speaker, Everington has presented at more than 100 industry events around the globe on a variety of regulatory topics.
