ASA Calls for 2019 Thomas R. Hobson Distinguished Aerospace Service Award Nominations

The Aerospace States Association has announced that nominations are open for the Thomas R. Hobson Distinguished Aerospace Service Award, which is presented each year to one individual who has demonstrated exemplary characteristics which bring government, industry and education together to strengthen the aerospace industry for the benefit of a state, territory or region of the United States of America.

The recipient of the 2019 Thomas R. Hobson Distinguished Aerospace Service Award will be notified by June 15, 2019 and the Award will be presented in Huntsville, Alabama at the Aerospace States Association Annual Award Dinner on July 17, 2019.

Previous Recipients of this distinguished award include:

2018 Mr. Todd A. May, Director of NASA George C. Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville

2017 Mr. Joe Rice, Director of Government Relations, Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company in Colorado

Kim Stevens

Kim Stevens is the publisher of State Aviation Journal, which he founded in 2009. A longtime commercial-rated pilot, he was introduced to state aviation in 1992 as Director of the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics, later serving as Deputy Division Director for the Arizona Department of Transportation's Aeronautics Division. From 2013 to 2018, he was Director of Communications and Operations for the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) in Washington, D.C. Relocating to North Carolina, Kim worked for the Raleigh-Durham International Airport for two years and now concentrates solely on the Journal. Prior to his aviation career, Kim spent a decade in the newspaper and magazine business.
