Shell Aviation has announced the signing of a fueling concession agreement to operate the new into-plane and fuel farm facilities as the sole jet fuel supplier at Salalah International Airport in Oman. Shell Aviation now supplies jet fuel at the two largest airports in the country \u2013 Muscat (MCT) and Salalah (SLL).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe see significant potential in Salalah and we aim to support their growth by providing our extensive expertise in fuel supply\u201d Anne Anderson, Vice President Shell Aviation, said during the signing ceremony. \u201cWe are pleased to add Salalah to our global network as we also mark 55 years of operations in Oman.\u201d<\/p>\n

Salalah International Airport was expanded in 2015 to enable it to serve 1 million passengers per year as part of Oman\u2019s strategy to further develop the area as a tourist destination. The airport has also been designed to allow for further expansion that could enable it to cater for up to 6 million passengers annually[1].<\/p>\n

Salim Awadh Said Al Yafaey, General Manager, Salalah International Airport, said: \u201cShell Aviation\u2019s operational and safety capabilities were decisive factors for us. Efficiency and supply security will be key in achieving our ambitious vision for the airport and Salalah. We believe Shell Aviation is the right choice to help us get there.\u201d<\/p>\n
