Randolph (Randy) Babbitt in November.<\/p>\n<p>Capt. Babbitt\u2019s dedication to the aviation industry spans over a half-century, during which he worked as a commercial airline pilot, led the United States\u2019 principal airline pilots\u2019 union, founded a leading aviation consulting firm, headed labor relations for a major airline, and served in the U.S. Government in several capacities, including as Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo matter which hat Randy has worn during his impressive career, he has always been a leader who focuses on moving flight safety and modernization forward \u2013 while staying positive and fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and a spirit of goodwill within in our industry,\u201d said Clay McConnell, Aero Club of Washington President. \u201cCaptain Babbitt\u2019s multiple and sustained contributions to the aviation industry exemplify the criteria established for the Engen Trophy, and his career achievement embodies the excellence, tenacity and fascination with flight that lie at the heart of this Award.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Award will be presented at the Aero Club of Washington\u2019s November 14, 2017 luncheon at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington, DC. This luncheon also will feature the Honorable Michael P.
