Under supervision, this individual will be responsible for monitoring aviation engineering projects from project inception through project closeout.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary of Job Duties: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with local municipalities and airport authorities to assist with the development of grant requests<\/li>\n<li>Ensure Federal Aviation Administration and TDOT grant compliance<\/li>\n<li>For assigned airport projects, contribute oversight during the design phase to ensure FAA and state standards and requirements are met<\/li>\n<li>Work with the assigned airport during the bidding of construction plans and throughout the construction phase to ensure the project is completed in accordance with all plans and specifications<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the aviation project engineering and construction budget to help prevent unnecessary budget overages and time delays<\/li>\n<li>Provide oversight of contract billing<\/li>\n<li>Provide \u00c2\u00a0technical guidance to the airport sponsor or sponsor\u2019s representative during all phases airport construction<\/li>\n<li>Other tasks as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have strong written and verbal presentation skills<\/li>\n<li>A valid motor vehicle operator license.<\/li>\n<li>Travel is required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>B.S. Civil Engineering\u00c2\u00a0 from an ABET accredited college or university<\/li>\n<li>Experience equivalent to one year of full-time professional engineering work that may include student assistant or college seasonal civil engineering work with the State of Tennessee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>OR<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>M.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>EI\/PE Certification<\/li>\n<li>Experience or formal education in aviation related projects<\/li>\n<li>Project management or project delivery experience or formal education and the ability to effectively manage multi-project deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Experience writing, reviewing, or processing construction change orders<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work flexible hours and travel with occasional overnight stays<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interested parties should create a profile and submit an official job application for the posting of <em>TRANS PROJ SPECIALIST <\/em>online at <a href=\"http:\/\/agency.governmentjobs.com\/tennessee\/default.cfm\">http:\/\/agency.governmentjobs.com\/tennessee\/default.cfm<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Tennessee Department of Transportation, Aeronautics Division, is seeking a project manager who is customer oriented and driven to complete projects within budget, on time and with high standards implemented.
