Filmed in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, the video features interviews with village residents and service providers who describe how important aviation is in their lives. &nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>&ldquo;These videos should serve us well. &nbsp;We will be able to better demonstrate the vital importance of aviation in Alaska, and explain why rural airports are more expensive to build and maintain than their lower 48 counterparts,&rdquo; said Deputy Commissioner of Aviation Steve Hatter. (Shown at right) &nbsp;&ldquo;We want to help people understand what we deal with at the local and state level here in Alaska. &nbsp;The videos will serve as a valuable educational tool for federal partners, congressional leaders, legislators, and the public at large.&rdquo;<\/div>\n<div>The Alaska Aviation Lifeline video can be accessed on the DOT&amp;PF webpage www.dot.alaska.gov and viewed at these links: &nbsp;Vimeo (http:\/\/vimeo.com\/39894638) and on YouTube (http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TDGw09IuApE)<\/div>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&amp;PF) oversees 254 airports, 11 ferries serving 33 communities, 5,700 miles of highway and 660 public facilities throughout the state of Alaska.
