{"id":746,"date":"2011-12-27T19:26:10","date_gmt":"2011-12-27T19:26:10","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-12-27T19:26:10","modified_gmt":"2011-12-27T19:26:10","slug":"new-aircraft-added-k-state-salina-fleet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/news\/new-aircraft-added-k-state-salina-fleet\/%20","title":{"rendered":"New Aircraft Added to K-State Salina Fleet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;The aviation program at Kansas State University&#8217;s Salina campus has added five new Cessna Skyhawk 172 G100s to the university&#8217;s fleet of learning aircraft.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"199\" height=\"115\" align=\"right\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/\\wp-content\\uploads\/1227 KSU Fleet.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>Kurt Barnhart, aviation department head said that in addition to having the G1000 avionics system, these new planes have autopilot. This means that students will get a well-rounded experience in K-State&#8217;s Cessna 172 aircraft. &quot;They start learning in a gas gauge environment and, as they build flight time, move into more technologically advanced aircraft,&quot; said Barnhart.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Dennis Kuhlman, CEO and dean of K-State Salina said that adding to their learning fleet was important to the program. &quot;As we gain students, it&#8217;s important to gain aircraft to maintain our low student-to-aircraft ratio,&quot; said Kuhlman.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The university took delivery of the aircraft in late November and students were able to use the aircraft for their last two weeks of classes.<\/div>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"field_attachment\">\n<div><b>Attachment:<\/b><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"\/\"><\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;The aviation program at Kansas State University&#8217;s Salina campus has added five new Cessna Skyhawk 172 G100s to the university&#8217;s fleet of learning aircraft.
