{"id":661,"date":"2011-09-01T19:21:09","date_gmt":"2011-09-01T19:21:09","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-09-01T19:21:09","modified_gmt":"2011-09-01T19:21:09","slug":"fly-iowa-2011-land-newton-day-wings-wheels-and-thrills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/news\/fly-iowa-2011-land-newton-day-wings-wheels-and-thrills\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Fly Iowa 2011 to land in Newton for a day of Wings, Wheels, and Thrills"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PlanesFly Iowa 2011 will land at the Newton Municipal Airport on Saturday, Septem<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"137\" height=\"212\" align=\"right\" src=\"\/\\wp-content\\uploads\/FlyIowa2011_postera.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>ber 17 for a full day of excitement on the ground and in the skies over Newton.&nbsp; The statewide aviation fair and air show is free and is designed to expose the public to the benefits and excitement of aviation in Iowa.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>The day will kick off with a public flight breakfast starting at 7:00 a.m. with the opening of Fly Iowa and a car show at 9:00 a.m.&nbsp; The air show will begin at 1:00 p.m.&nbsp; Aviation highlights throughout the day will include a B-52 flyover, P-51 Mustang performance, a full line up of aerobatic performances, skydivers, and wing walking.&nbsp; Many types of aircraft will be on display including military, experimental, helicopters, business, training, and agricultural aircraft.&nbsp; Displays, vendors, and kids activities will dot the grounds at the airport.
