As you know, I love my retro aviation games. Anything that was related to aviation and flight was a must play for me growing up and this was absolutely the case with one of my all-time favorite Super Nintendo games, Star Fox<\/em><\/strong>! I still own a complete in box (CIB) copy of the SNES version of Star Fox. I also own a CIB copy of Star Fox 64 with rumble pak! And, of course, I also own copies of the 3DS version and Wii U version. Fun fact, out of all of the Nintendo amiibos, the only amiibo I ever purchased was, of course, Fox McCloud!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, yes, I love Star Fox and could spend all day flying the Arwing. Fox McCloud and his entire crew have always been a favorite, whether I’m playing my original copies of Star Fox or replaying those games on Nintendo Switch Online through the SNES and N64 apps! By the way, Star Fox Assault on the GameCube app when???<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year it was announced that a new Star Fox game would be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 25th, 2026 \u2013 This week!!<\/strong> It\u2019s based on Star Fox 64 with new visuals that take full advantage of the Nintendo Switch 2 system. It includes plenty of single player content through Campaign and Challenge modes but also has Battle Mode for 4 vs 4 dogfights! Let\u2019s goo!!!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nintendo also released a Star Fox demo<\/strong> for those who want to try out the game ahead of Thursday\u2019s release. (Do it!!<\/em>). It features a complete tutorial and the Meteo campaign stage! It only takes about 5 minutes or so to complete the Meteo stage (at least it always seems to go by that quickly!<\/em>), but there are multiple outcomes based on hidden secrets and mission-ending cinematics based on each outcome. You can also earn a medal by achieving over 200 hits. Also, if you\u2019re crazy like me, you can try to improve on that score to see just how high you can go! I actually decided to challenge my friends to a high score run to achieve the most hits and came out on top with a total of 329<\/strong>! Let me know if you can do better!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve already put over 3 hours into the Star Fox demo based on replaying the Meteo stage alone. This includes time playing with the Joy-Cons and the official Nintendo 64<\/a> controller (plays great with it<\/em>) that you can buy on the Nintendo Store. I can\u2019t wait to play and replay all of the other stages when the full game releases this Thursday. I\u2019ll be looking to achieve all the medals and getting higher and higher records on each stage that I will surely be sharing all over social media! Who\u2019s with me???<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
