{"id":34960,"date":"2026-04-21T00:20:52","date_gmt":"2026-04-21T00:20:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/?p=34960"},"modified":"2026-04-21T00:22:37","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T00:22:37","slug":"americas-250th-anniversary-to-be-commemorated-during-eaa-airventure-oshkosh-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/wisconsin\/americas-250th-anniversary-to-be-commemorated-during-eaa-airventure-oshkosh-2026\/%20","title":{"rendered":"America\u2019s 250th Anniversary to be Commemorated During EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Above &#8211; <em>Boeing Plaza at AirVenture 2025 &#8211; Photo by Kim Stevens<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The heritage, innovation, and technological advances of aviation in the United States over the past century will be part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eaa.org\/airventure\">EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026<\/a>, the Experimental Aircraft Association\u2019s annual fly-in convention, on July 20-26 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2019Celebrating the Freedom of Flight\u2019 will focus on the unique role aviation has played in America\u2019s progress since that first flight of the Wright brothers in 1903,\u201d said Rick Larsen, EAA\u2019s vice president of communities and member programs, who coordinates AirVenture features and attractions. \u201cBe it innovations by individuals or colossal accomplishments by the nation\u2019s companies and our military, America\u2019s leadership role in the progress of flight has been a remarkable part of our nation\u2019s history that we\u2019ll celebrate at Oshkosh.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"414\" src=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/20250726_202815-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-34961\" style=\"width:407px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/20250726_202815-edit.jpg 900w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/20250726_202815-edit-300x138.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>That focus at Air Venture will cover the more than 120 years since the first flights at Kitty Hawk, starting with the \u201cPioneers of Flight\u201d exhibits and program covering powered aviation\u2019s first 25 years, to the latest fighter jets, unmanned aircraft, and spaceflights that showcase cutting-edge technology. That theme will be represented on the main Boeing Plaza ramp and during the daily air shows, as well as in evening programming at Theater in the Woods and at the Fly-In Theater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, individual areas at EAA AirVenture will feature unique aspects of America\u2019s preeminent role in aviation.
