This program began in North Dakota in 2011 and it rewards pilots who fly to North Dakota\u2019s publicly owned airports, attend FAA safety seminars, and visit North Dakota\u2019s aviation museums.&nbsp; This program promotes safety, continuing education, and encourages pilots to practice approaches and landings in many different environments. Not shown in the picture: Shane McKenzie &#8211; Minot, Trevor Reiter &#8211; Minot, Max Kahlhamer &#8211; Grand Forks.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>There currently are three award levels within the North Dakota passport program and the highest and most prestigious award level of Gold is achieved by flying to all 89 ND public airports, visiting the Fargo and Minot Air Museums, and attending three FAA safety Seminars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gold award was achieved by six pilots during the past year and these individuals received a leather flight jacket embroidered with the North Dakota Flying Legacy logo. These pilots join the 114 others who have completed the passport program in previous years, making a grand total of 120 pilots who have achieved the gold award since the program\u2019s inception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following is a list of the individuals achieving the gold level in 2026:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Terry Liddick &#8211; Spearfish, SD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shane McKenzie \u2013 Minot, ND<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trevor Reiter &#8211; Minot, ND<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Max Kahlhamer\u2013 Grand Forks, ND<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Neil Kadrmas \u2013 Washburn ND<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>James Lindquist \u2013 Hettinger, ND<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The awards presentation occurred on March 8th at the Dakota Territory Air Museum in Minot, in conjunction with the North Dakota Aviation Association&#8217;s Fly-ND Conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Presenting the awards were Kyle Wanner, Executive Director and Mike McHugh, Aviation Education Coordinator of the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ufeffThe program is sponsored by the North Dakota Department of Commerce\u2019s Tourism Division in partnership with the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission, the Airport Association of North Dakota, and the North Dakota Aviation Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Multiple pilots were recently presented with awards for participating in the \u201cFly North Dakota Airports\u201d Passport Program.
