{"id":34463,"date":"2026-03-09T19:01:34","date_gmt":"2026-03-09T19:01:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/?p=34463"},"modified":"2026-03-09T19:12:04","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T19:12:04","slug":"pensacola-international-airport-hosts-wings-for-all-mock-flight-with-delta-air-lines-and-the-arc-gateway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/florida\/pensacola-international-airport-hosts-wings-for-all-mock-flight-with-delta-air-lines-and-the-arc-gateway\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Pensacola International Airport Hosts Wings for All\u00ae Mock Flight with Delta Air Lines and The Arc Gateway"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Pensacola International Airport (PNS), in partnership with Delta Air Lines and <a href=\"https:\/\/arc-gateway.org\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/arc-gateway.org\/\">The Arc Gateway<\/a>, hosted a Wings for All\u00ae event on February 24<sup>th<\/sup> &#8211; a mock flight experience designed to help children with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities, and their families, become more comfortable with air travel.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"409\" height=\"535\" src=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/WingsforAll1-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-34465\" style=\"width:280px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/WingsforAll1-edit.jpg 409w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/WingsforAll1-edit-229x300.jpg 229w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 409px) 100vw, 409px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Pensacola International Airport, Delta Air Lines, The Arc Gateway, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), OHM Concessions Group, and the City of Pensacola, all working together to create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive experience for participating families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur Wings for All event last week was a tremendous success exposing individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to the airport travel process,\u201d said Matt Coughlin, Pensacola International Airport\u2019s Airport Director. \u201cSpecial thanks to the ARC Gateway, Delta Air Lines, TSA and OHM Concessions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Wings for All allows families to experience the full airport journey in a structured, low-stress environment, including ticketing, TSA security screening, boarding, and time onboard an aircraft\u2014without the pressures of an actual flight. For many families, the experience represents a meaningful first step toward making air travel a realistic and positive option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Wings for All\u00ae program was created by Delta Air Lines as part of the airline\u2019s long-standing commitment to accessibility and inclusion. Since its inception, the program has supported thousands of individuals nationwide by helping reduce anxiety, build familiarity, and empower travelers of all abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Community leaders and partners emphasize the importance of creating travel experiences that feel welcoming from the very start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m proud that we can be part of the team that is making the Wings for All\u00ae experience possible,&#8221; said Mayor D.C. Reeves. &#8220;Traveling is an exciting\u2014and sometimes intimidating\u2014experience for every family. We are honored to host this event and to partner with Delta, The Arc Gateway, and our local collaborators to ensure families feel supported, understood, and welcome at PNS.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That sense of confidence-building is at the heart of The Arc Gateway\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We\u2019re thrilled to be a part of such a unique experience for people with disabilities in our community,&#8221; said Missy Rogers, CEO of The Arc Gateway. &#8220;Allowing them to participate in real-world ventures in a safe environment minimizes the possibility of complications when the time comes for future air travel.
