{"id":33641,"date":"2025-12-14T23:12:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-14T23:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/?p=33641"},"modified":"2025-12-14T23:12:02","modified_gmt":"2025-12-14T23:12:02","slug":"daher-aircraft-and-the-general-aviation-manufacturers-association-renew-joint-internship-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/international-news\/daher-aircraft-and-the-general-aviation-manufacturers-association-renew-joint-internship-program\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Daher Aircraft and the General Aviation Manufacturers Association Renew Joint Internship Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Daher Aircraft and the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) have joined forces to motivate the next generation of aviation professionals by offering their unique international internship for the third consecutive year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This trans-Atlantic initiative offers hands-on experience for four selected students \u2013 two from North America and two from Europe \u2013 by providing industry exposure with a leading manufacturer of general aviation airplanes through direct interaction with managers, workers, pilots and aircraft owners\/operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The selected students will have eight-week assignments in their areas of identified interest at two Daher Aircraft facilities: North American interns will be assigned to the company\u2019s Tarbes, France headquarters and production facility for TBM airplanes; while the European interns are to be based at the company\u2019s Sandpoint, Idaho operation in the U.S., where Kodiak airplanes are produced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All four students will then support Daher\u2019s team during the company\u2019s participation at the annual summertime EAA AirVenture gathering in Oshkosh, Wisconsin \u2013 gaining exposure to all aspects of aviation while attending the world\u2019s largest fly-in and air show event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Travel, living expenses and lodging costs are covered by the internship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGeneral aviation continues to evolve rapidly, and it\u2019s essential that we inspire the next generation to chart its future,\u201d said Daher Aircraft CEO Nicolas Chabbert. \u201cWhether it\u2019s advancing sustainability, rethinking global supply chains, or cultivating a broader pool of skilled talent, today\u2019s students will shape tomorrow\u2019s solutions. The internship with GAMA provides an exceptional insight into an industry in transformation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>James Viola, the GAMA President and CEO, added: \u201cOur joint internship\u2019s success demonstrates the value of exposing students to the breadth of careers in general aviation. The professionalism and drive shown by the past years\u2019 interns \u2013 including one who has now joined Daher Aircraft as an apprentice \u2013 underscores how immersive experiences can help strengthen the sector\u2019s global talent pipeline.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Internship applicants should be 21 to 24 years of age, with U.S., Canadian or European citizenship, and enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an associate, undergraduate or graduate degree. They will need to demonstrate an interest in an aeronautical career for engineering, flying, maintenance, manufacturing or marketing \u2013 among other areas. Selections will be based on the following submittals from the internship candidates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A resume and a mandatory cover letter explaining why the applicant is the optimum candidate for the experience, supported by examples of interests and achievements; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A 40-second video introducing the candidate and describing his\/her expectations for the internship.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested students can apply via the following links: the GAMA-Daher French internship experience for North American students, or: the GAMA-Daher U.S. internship experience for European students; or via e-mail to: w.ferreira@daher.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deadline for submissions is December 28, 2025.
