Berge brings a wealth of experience in aviation, law enforcement, and public service, strengthening ODAV\u2019s mission to ensure a safe and efficient aviation system for Oregon.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/ODAV-Airport-Programs-Specialist-Christian-Berge-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33434\" style=\"width:362px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/ODAV-Airport-Programs-Specialist-Christian-Berge-edit.jpg 600w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/ODAV-Airport-Programs-Specialist-Christian-Berge-edit-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Christian Berge<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Berge began his aviation career as an Aviation Operations Specialist in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Rucker, Alabama, during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Following his military service, he spent two decades in law enforcement as a police officer, building a reputation for professionalism and dedication to public safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With over ten years of experience in the aviation industry, Berge has worked as a flight attendant and operations agent with Southwest Airlines and as a ground service agent and team captain with Horizon Air. Most recently, he served as a Patient Advocate with the Portland VA Medical Center, where he worked to ensure veterans received compassionate and effective care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outside of work, Berge enjoys traveling and boating on the Willamette River with his wife, Deborah, and their four children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re excited to welcome Christian to the ODAV team,\u201d said Kenji, Sugahara, Director of the Oregon Department of Aviation. \u201cChristian\u2019s extensive experience in customer service, aviation, and public safety makes him a welcome addition to our agency.
