South Carolina Aviation Association<\/a> (SCAA) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 SCAA Scholarships Program, awarded to promising students pursuing careers in aviation. The Scholarships Program is supported through generous donations and proceeds from events such as the silent auction and the golf outing, sponsored by WK Dickson, held during the 2025 SCAA Annual Conference in February. These six recipients are actively advancing their education and training in flight, maintenance, and aerospace, preparing to become the next generation of aviation professionals in South Carolina.<\/p>\n\n\n

Atticus Ralph<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

Atticus Ralph is currently enrolled at Charleston Southern University, working toward a degree that incorporates essential flight labs. His goal is to become a professional pilot, building on experience he gained earning his private pilot license in high school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Incoming Charleston Southern University freshman Rankin Wilcher will pursue an Aeronautics \u2013 Professional Pilot degree. With a strong academic and athletic background, he plans to earn all required licenses and certifications to qualify as a commercial airline pilot, then gain experience as a flight instructor before advancing his career.<\/p>\n\n\n

Sean Kessler<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

Caleb Helms studies at the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics (PIA) in Myrtle Beach, focusing on aircraft maintenance and preparing for his General and Powerplant certifications. He is committed to starting a lasting and meaningful career in aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sean Kessler, also at PIA Myrtle Beach Campus, is training to become an A&P mechanic. His experience as a ramp agent fueled his passion for aviation, and he is dedicated to contributing to safe and efficient aircraft maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n

Davis Maldonado<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

Davis Maldonado studies Geography with a minor in Climate and Society at the University of South Carolina (USC), while completing flight training at Propel Aviation. Inspired by a family legacy in aviation, he aims to become a professional pilot, planning to build flight hours as a flight instructor before advancing to commercial airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n

William Edwards<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

William Edwards, an aerospace engineering student at USC, combines academic studies and research with leadership roles to prepare for a future in aviation, including potential pilot training through military or civilian pathways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
