The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) released its latest AOPA Presents mini-documentary, \u201cWiiings Not Required,\u201d featuring Aaron Fitzgerald\u2014one of the world\u2019s only helicopter aerobatic pilots and a standout performer with the Red Bull Air Force team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This marks the third installment in the AOPA Presents series, produced entirely by AOPA\u2019s in-house cinematographers. Each film highlights unique aviation stories through stunning visuals and compelling narratives that showcase the passion and diversity of the flying community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWiiings Not Required\u201d was filmed and edited by AOPA Video Content Producer Brianna Cabassa, with additional cinematography by Jamal Warner. They joined Fitzgerald both in rehearsal flights over Southern California and during a high-energy performance at the Aviation Nation air show at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cExperiencing aerobatics firsthand in the Red Bull helicopter with Aaron was exhilarating,\u201d said Cabassa. \u201cIt was technically challenging to film but also a thrill to capture something so precise and uncommon in the world of aviation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AOPA members can dive deeper into Fitzgerald\u2019s story and adventures in a story by Alicia Herron the July issue of AOPA Pilot, which will begin arriving in mailboxes by mid-month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
