Service through Hawaiian Telcom began April 17, 2025, and is available throughout the terminal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fiber optic network infrastructure was installed through HDOT\u2019s HI Connect pilot project, which improved broadband infrastructure along roads in Kalihi, Puna, Ka\u2018\u016b, N\u0101n\u0101kuli, Wai\u2018anae, M\u0101kaha and Kapa\u2018a. The Hawaiian Telcom 1G Fiber network can accommodate video streaming and downloads by multiple users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAir travel is a necessity for Moloka\u2018i residents to access medical care and other resources,\u201d said Senator Lynn DeCoite. \u201cAccess to free internet while waiting for flights can help make these essential trips more efficient and comfortable. I appreciate HDOT working to connect Moloka\u2018i Airport.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWi-Fi has been available at our larger, busier airports since 2018,\u201d said Hawai\u2018i Department of Transportation Director Ed Sniffen. \u201cOffering this free service at Moloka\u2018i Airport is part of our efforts to make meaningful, cost-effective improvements at our facilities for local travelers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MKK travelers can connect to the network by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Turn on Wi-Fi<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Open your device\u2019s Wi-Fi settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Connect to the Airport Wi-Fi SSID<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Look for the official airport network name (SSID) in the list of available networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHI Connect Free Wi-Fi\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tap or click to connect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wait for the Captive Portal Page to Open<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After connecting, a browser window or pop-up should automatically appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If it doesn\u2019t:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Open a web browser (like Safari, Chrome, or Edge).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Go to any website (like example.com).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You should be redirected to the Wi-Fi login\/acceptance page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Accept the Terms &amp; Conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Review the terms of service and privacy policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tap or click Accept.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Confirm Connection<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once accepted, the captive portal will usually redirect you to a confirmation or welcome page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can now browse the internet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Hawai\u2018i Department of Transportation (HDOT) announced that free Wi-Fi is now available at Moloka\u2018i Airport (MKK).
