Department of Transportation is soaring into the <a href=\"https:\/\/nasao.org\/page\/international-aviation-art-contest\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/nasao.org\/page\/international-aviation-art-contest\">2025 Aviation Art Contest<\/a>, and this year\u2019s theme, \u201cWomen with Wings,\u201d is all about celebrating the pioneering women who were trailblazers in aviation, such as pilots, skydivers or women who built and maintained aircraft.\u00a0 This year\u2019s contest gives students from elementary school to high school the opportunity to showcase how women from all walks of life have made their mark in the air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u201cThis year\u2019s theme, Women with Wings, gives students the perfect opportunity to explore both history and imagination,\u201d said Becca\u202fGallas, Director of NCDOT Division of Aviation. \u201cWe encourage all students to join in, get creative and honor the inspiring women who have taken flight in aviation\u2019s storied history.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">North Carolina students born between Jan. 1, 2007, and Dec. 31, 2018, are eligible to submit entries in one of three age groups: junior (ages 6-9), intermediate (ages 10-13) and senior (ages 14-17).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Cash prizes, provided by the North Carolina Airports Association, will be awarded to the top three students in each age group and their schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Entries for North Carolina\u2019s contest must be received by Jan. 17, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The artwork of the three North Carolina winners in each age group will advance to the national competition, hosted by the National Association of State Aviation Officials in Washington D.C.
