Pyka and SNC have partnered to offer Pyka\u2019s large-scale\nall-electric cargo uncrewed aerial system (UAS) to customers within the U.S.\nDepartment of Defense. The dynamic partnership combines SNC\u2019s expertise in\ncustomizing solutions for the world\u2019s most complex challenges and Pyka\u2019s\nrevolutionary autonomous electric cargo aircraft, Pelican Cargo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together, Pyka and SNC have introduced RUMRUNNER\u2014 a modified\nedition of Pelican Cargo, the world\u2019s largest 100% electric cargo UAS for\nsustainment in contested operations. Featuring high-thrust super-short takeoff\nand landing (SSTOL) capability, a payload capacity of up to 400 pounds, and\nrange of up to 200 miles, RUMRUNNER is a game-changer for military sustainment\noperations, enabling dynamic logistics and operational energy support from\npoints of distribution to points of need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPyka\u2019s Pelican Cargo is unlike any other UAS solution on\nthe market for contested logistics,\u201d said Michael Bertman, vice president of\nprograms at SNC. \u201cWe assessed a number of leading capabilities and concluded\nthat the Pelican Cargo is significantly more capable than any other platform.\nIt is the only all-electric, austere environment cargo aircraft with that kind\nof range, payload capacity, and cargo volume. While the clean energy aspect is\nimportant, creating a more diverse, distributed, and survivable supply chain is\nexpected to be the primary driver in terms of interest from the DoD. The\nZero-Fuel component minimizes the need to forward-stage bulk fuel, which\nsignificantly reduces the logistics tail normally associated with resupply\noperations. This presents opportunities to increase the survivability of our\nservice members, reduce risks to the force, and transform the way military\noperations have historically been conducted.\u201d \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
