Paradies Lagard\u00c3\u00a8re<\/a> remains committed to investing in the communities of the airports it serves. With its corporate headquarters based in Atlanta, the company supports many causes in its backyard. Almost a decade ago, the company decided to focus on nonprofits that support children and their families, the military and tackle food insecurity. In doing so, they work with programs such as Make-A-Wish Foundation, local food banks, elementary schools and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emberlyn, 12 years old, is a lover of \u201cold school\u201d Disney movie and obsessed with Alice in Wonderland, Aladin and Beauty in the Beast. She has Pulmonary Hypertension which makes her heart work harder than normal to pump blood into the lungs but when she watches these classics, mom says she cheers, claps and sings along to the music. Disney World was the perfect place to enjoy all her favorite movies and Disney characters with her family. Paradies Lagardere pulled off an epic wish celebration letting her know that her wish was coming true and they were headed to the most magical place on earth! The entire company waved pom poms, cheered and sent her family off in style! <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Once per quarter, employees at all levels\u2014from hourly\nassociates to executive leadership\u2014collaborate to volunteer at Atlanta\nCommunity Food Bank. Each volunteer day provides thousands of meals for\nfamilies in need. In addition to showing up to volunteer, Paradies Lagard\u00c3\u00a8re\nsponsors many causes including the City of Atlanta\u2019s Pride Reception and the\nMayor\u2019s Youth Scholarship Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In June 2023, Paradies Lagard\u00c3\u00a8re adopted William M. Boyd\nElementary School in Atlanta, supporting the students by donating school\nsupplies, cheering them on as they walked into their first day of school,\nproviding lunches for teachers and visiting classrooms to read to students.\nMembers of the executive team are planning another visit in March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeff Flowers, senior vice president of operations at\nParadies Lagard\u00c3\u00a8re, has been on the Make-A-Wish Foundation board for eight\nyears, serving this year as vice chair. The organization\u2019s Georgia Chapter\ngrants about 480 wishes each year including taking a child to the Super Bowl,\nDisney World or on a trip to Hawaii. \u201cTo see a true wish reveal is pretty\nmagical,\u201d Flowers says. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a Platinum partner of the Make-A-Wish Foundation,\nParadies Lagard\u00c3\u00a8re sponsors one full wish each year and contributes funds to\nhelp 15 other wishes in Georgia. Over the course of its sponsorship, Paradies\nLagard\u00c3\u00a8re has helped sponsor more than 75 wishes. Because travel dining and\nretail is the company\u2019s specialty, it donates items that children can use while\nthey are traveling and also will host the Make-A-Wish family at the airport by\ngreeting the family at the gate, hosting them in a private room with snacks and\ngames to help ease the stress of travel, and assisting them through the airport\nto start their adventure. Paradies Lagard\u00c3\u00a8re team members across the US and\nCanada also participate in the annual Walk for Wishes to raise money to grant\nwishes for children coping with serious medical conditions. Previously the\ncompany has had over 700 employees participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the corporate level, Paradies Lagard\u00c3\u00a8re has developed the\nPEPS program to guide its social responsibility efforts. Standing for Planet,\nEthics, People and Social, PEPS paves the way for a sustainable future through\ncarbon footprint reduction, ethical business practices, an equitable and\ninclusive work environment and a commitment to community engagement. PEPS is a\nglobal program created by the company\u2019s parent organization, Lagard\u00c3\u00a8re Travel\nRetail, which is based in Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each team also chooses its own designated charity and gets\ninvolved with other nonprofits on the local level. At the Southwest Florida\nInternational Airport in Fort Myers, Paradies Lagard\u00c3\u00a8re team members joined\nforces with the airport fire department to collect toys for Toys for Tots\nduring the holidays. The Paradies Lagard\u00c3\u00a8re team at George Bush\nIntercontinental Airport supports the Housing, Entrepreneurship and Readiness\nTraining (HEART) Program, a Houston-based nonprofit that creates structured\nemployment opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental\ndisabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
